The Sacred Cycle: Kali, Lakshmi and Saraswati as a Map for Your Becoming

goddess Jul 14, 2025

Today we bow to the three great goddesses (Saraswati, Lakshmi, and Kali) as guides for the sacred cycle of life. Creation. Sustenance. Dissolution. These aren’t just abstract concepts. They are forces that live within each of us, breathing new life into our hearts, helping us embody abundance, and guiding us through the necessary endings.

This is the rhythm that carries us through every season, every relationship, every idea, every version of ourselves.

The Cycle of the Feminine

We begin with Saraswati, the goddess of wisdom, truth, and creation. She is the whisper that starts it all - the creative spark, the longing in your heart, the vision that wants to be birthed into the world. She helps you hear your inner voice clearly, and supports you in bringing that idea, that offering, that part of yourself into form.

Next comes Lakshmi, goddess of abundance, love, and the fullness of life. She is the radiant beauty of something fully alive. Lakshmi is what it feels like when your dream becomes real - when your creation takes form and flourishes. She teaches us to relish in this richness, to celebrate the nourishment and joy of what we have cultivated. To not rush past the peak moments, but to truly live them.

And then there is Kali - the fierce goddess of dissolution, destruction, and truth. She clears the space. She burns down what no longer serves. And though her energy may feel intense or even painful, she is also deeply loving. Kali liberates. She brings endings that make way for beginnings.

These three goddesses are not separate. They are a continuous current moving through your life.

Letting It All Move

We are not meant to stay in perpetual creation or hold onto the fullness of something forever. The teachings of these goddesses remind us to trust the wave - to let things begin, to let things thrive, and to let them end when their time has passed.

How often do we cling to what we’ve built, fearing what will be left when it falls away?

But what if, instead, we honored the falling as sacred too?

One of the most personal reflections of this teaching came through a life season of transition. My youngest child was preparing to move overseas, and the fullness of active motherhood — the everyday beauty of it — was coming to an end. There was grief, of course. Tears flowed. But as that role began to dissolve, space was created. New inspiration began to rise. A desire to build a tiny home. A new way of living. A new way of being.

The endings we fear often carry the seeds of the next beautiful beginning.

Living with the Goddesses

At our upcoming Goddess Retreat, we will spend three full days with each of these goddesses - diving deep into their teachings, feeling their energy, and letting them guide us through our own inner seasons.

This work is not just about understanding the cycle. It’s about living it.

Creating what longs to be expressed.
Savouring what blooms.
And releasing what needs to die.

With Saraswati, Lakshmi, and Kali as our companions, we are never alone in this process. We are part of something ancient and wise. Something that knows exactly how to help us become who we are here to be.

Let yourself be moved.

Let yourself be held.

Let yourself begin again.
