Yin & Pin Sessions

Winter Immunity: work with your breath and lungs to support and stimulate your respiratory system.

Sunday 21 July 2024
3pm-4.30pm
Christchurch, NZ

Your lungs provide vital oxygen and life force to all your body’s organs and, allow you to breathe.

While the primary purpose of breathing is to send oxygen to the cells in your body and release carbon dioxide, your breath helps you in many other ways. Effective breathing results in better digestion, increased immunity, more mental clarity, improved sleep, reduced stress levels, and much more.

The healthier your lungs are, the more effective your breathing is, and you will experience more mental and physical health benefits.

Meditation, breathing exercises, and yoga postures have a positive effect on the respiratory system.

Yoga asanas stretch and strengthen the chest area, expand the lungs and diaphragm and increase blood circulation.

Pranayama helps unblock the nostrils, clean capillaries and clear the nasal passage, which can relieve coughs, colds, Asthma, and chronic bronchitis. Slow deep breathing strengthens the lungs and increases their capacity for taking in oxygen.

Your respiratory rate slows during meditation and chanting, allowing the lungs to absorb more oxygen.

This wellbeing workshop will focus on supporting your lungs and breathing to maximise your vitality for winter.

Balance your winter months with the deep rest and nourishment that our Yin & Pin Winter Wellbeing series is designed to provide.

We combine the healing power of Yin/Gentle/Restorative Yoga and Acupuncture to support you through the cold and dark of winter.
